The crochet pattern that began our love for all HEART crochet things!

Dear Crochet Friend,
Yep, this is the one that started it all!  WAY back in the early 1980's when we began Shady Lane, we published several diamond afghan designs.  We called it our dropped dc stitch method.  Little did we know it was REALLY monochromatic overlay mosaic crochet!

Next we discovered HEARTS using the same technique with our Sweetheart Afghan (and Pillows) and we were in LOVE!  From then on we couldn't get enough of hearts and included them in many future designs.  We even did "entwined" 2 hearts (Hearts at Home Afghan and Pillows).  Our Captive Heart was a BIG hit (a take-off on our Blocks of Diamonds).  And who can forget Romantic Rose, a combination of hearts and flowers?  Throughout the years we have continued our love for hearts.
