Crochet Pattern Booklets

Dear Crochet Friend,

Butterflies seem to be one of our most favorite themes.  I've gathered together three booklets full of crochet designs featuring these popular creatures to show you today.

The Butterflies Home Decor booklet is one that was originally published in the 1980's.  The printed booklet is now out of print, but I have recreated it for you in instant download format.  These unique designs have been very popular throughout the 30+ years that Shady Lane has been established.  The booklet features a dramatic afghan photographed at my parent's Southern California home beside the pool that gave a set of grandkid's some fun times in the past (they're now grown with children of their own!)

Also featured in the same booklet are several pillow styles, a potholder, miniature and table setting using the butterfly theme.

The second booklet, "Butterfly Bath" was first published in the late 1980's.  The rug can also be used as a wall hanging.  Various designs in the 8-piece set provide functionality as well as beauty.  I love the Zinnia tissue (toilet) roll cover--it is just so unique and covers that spare roll SO beautifully.  The booklet is now available as an instant download or if you prefer, a printed digest-size booklet which will be mailed to you.

I've long wanted to do a butterfly afghan using the popular sc and dropped dc stitch technique for which Shady Lane is known for.   I chose to pair the butterflies with flowers, which seemed like a natural combination, and named it appropriately "Butterfly Bouquet."

The afghan is made using our newly popular square design worked in rounds.  This eliminates the need for fringe, which is a nice change of pace.  There are two options, solid color panels which will work up quicker, or a more dramatic multi-color version as shown on the front cover of the booklet.  I've included instructions for a baby afghan made from baby yarn, a child-size afghan using sport or baby yarn, and an adult version made from worsted weight yarn.  The booklet is available as an instant electronic download or as a printed booklet mailed to you.

Sincerely,
Carol Hegar
